Finishes as variants
Add one variant option called Finish, with the values you sell — Graphite, Silver, Midnight, White.
The theme renders it as colour chips. The chip colours come from theme settings, not from Shopify, because Shopify has no concept of what colour "Midnight" is. Set them under Theme settings → Product cards → Swatches, mapping each option value to a hex colour.
An option value with no mapping falls back to a neutral chip rather than disappearing, so adding a finish before you have set its colour is safe.
Images
Product images are shown square by default, which suits hardware laid flat or on a plain ground. Change it under Theme settings → Product cards → Card image ratio if your photography is landscape.
The second image is what the card swaps to on hover — a back or port view works well.
The short spec line
Cards and the product page show a one-line summary under the title:
14in 2.8K OLED · 16GB · 1TB. This is deliberately separate from the
specification table — it is the two or three numbers someone scans a grid by,
not the full sheet.
It comes from the product's metafield or, if you prefer, the first row of the spec table. Keep it to about 40 characters; it is a glance, not a summary.
Collections are departments
The homepage tabs and the shop filters both read collections. One collection per department — Laptops, Audio, Keyboards & mice, Desktops & displays — is the arrangement the theme is built around.
What the theme does not need
- No page builder.
- No paid app.
- No particular product type or tag.
- Nothing beyond the
specsmetafield and whatever your review app writes.
